Concrete in the Bath - Counters, Sinks, Walls & Toilets

Our custom decorative concrete overlays bond to your existing bath surfaces including vanities, walls, and floors in Formica, cultured marble, tile, MDF, plywood, concrete, greenboard, hardibacker...  No demolition is necessary --  saving you time and money while achieving a high-end custom look designed to harmonize with your decor.

With our latest capabilities we can even overlay the old metal band around your sink!  If you prefer, we can fabricate a new vanity with a unique integral sink.

Vanities

The above vanity and integral sink were fabricated in MDF and coated with a decorative concrete overlay. This Homeowner also chose a decorative concrete kitchen counter and pellet stove surround. The above close-up of the sink to the left reveals the Liquid Amber and Aspen leaf imprints.  Custom stencils were made from a Liquid Amber leaf provided by the homeowner. The liquid amber leaf represents the homeowner's Santa Barbara life whereas the Aspen leaf represents her Mammoth Lakes life.

The above vanity with integral ramp sink was fabricated with MDF and overlayed with a decorative concrete coating in slate green, browns and rusts.   The pattern for the lower edge was suggested by the shapes of the quartzite stones in the floor in this bathroom.  The same finish was used in a second vanity and a laundry room in this home.. The above vanity with a shallow integral kidney-shaped sink was fabricated with MDF and overlayed with a decorative concrete coating in slate green, browns and rusts.  Two ammonite shells were imbedded in the vanity top.  The vanity curves gracefully over the toilet tank, providing additional counter surface and continuity.
The his and her vanities above were built in two heights to accommodate people of different sizes.  The backsplash was custom fabricated to represent the local mountains.  This set of vanities is identical to the vanities above right which were recoated to change the colors.. The above his and her vanities were originally colored in whites, golds, greys and browns to coordinate with the quartzite floors.
The master bath vanity above and the guest bath vanity to the left were accomplished by applying a decorative concrete overlay in greens and rusts to an existing Formica counter.  The original sinks and metal rims were left intact. (We now have the ability to coat the metal rims, as well.)   The front edges were textured to suggest rough stone. The homeowner chose to have all 4 vanities, the kitchen counters and a half wall railing treated with the same finish. The colors were chosen to coordinate with the new flooring in the kitchen.

Sinks

The two sinks above were cast in solid concrete and integrally colored.  The above sink was fabricated with plywood, waterproofed, and coated with a decorative concrete overlay colored to coordinate with the quartzite floors.

The master bath cast concrete vanity above was designed to provide the homeowner with two sinks but only one drain in order to comply with permit restrictions.  The shallow sinks taper from 2 to 2.5 inches and drain into a common channel which flows into a single common drain in the rear of the vanity.  The indented curve in the vanity top mimics the curve in the homeowners doors and dictated the curve on the sink shapes as well. The natural white, smoke and taupe colors and the texturing were suggested by the Jerusalem limestone flooring used throughout the newly remodeled Malibu home.

Laundry
The laundry counter to the left was fabricated with MDF with a convenient  10-inch deep integral laundry sink, a textured 4-inch wide edge and no backsplash.  The slate green and brown coloring unites the wall and cabinet colors..

Shower Walls

The bath/shower wall above was created by applying a decorative concrete overlay to an ceramic tile wall.  The kitchen and bath vanities were similarly transformed.  The walls and ceiling of this self-contained steam bath/shower were created using hardibacker coated with a decorative concrete overlay.
This tiny shower in a cabin in the woods was embellished with decorative concrete and a falling leaf pattern.
